The mission of the Woman's Department Club is to promote the cultural, educational and mental development of women and to be a power of good in the community.Community Philanthropic Involvement
The Womans Department Club is very involved in the supporting the community. In 2025-26 alone the club has contributed to numerous community projects.
We’re proud to support:
• $1000 was donated to the Swope Art Museum. Fred Nation, the Executive Director of the Swope acknowledged this contribution which is part of a matching campaign that will help in Elevating the Swope for better public access. The 1 ½ times match makes it worth $2500.
• $1000 to the Salvation Army for the Red Kettle that the JDC worked was made in December.
• $1500 to the Humane Shelter. The WDC received a very nice thank you from Heidi Mitchell, Executive Director of the Humane Society.
• $2500 was donated as a sponsor for David Bowdon’s last THSO performance in May 2025.
• $1500 was donated to the THSO Music in the Schools Program.
• $500 will be given to each qualifying Junior Department senior toward their college education.
• $1000 Scholarships toward their college education for up to two high school seniors in the Junior Department who demonstrate exceptional merit.
